Dec 10, 2019 · I'm a little bummed out that my Outback can't seem to figure out how to connect to an old iPod that I have. I don't know the model number, but it's old enough that it has the "wheel" control interface, and the old-style Apple connector (the connector is maybe an inch wide). It does have a color screen, and has 32 Gig of memory.

May 12, 2021 · I have a 5th GEN iPod classic and a 2022 Subaru Outback Limited I can confirm utilizing the 30 pin docking connector to USB the vehicle will not recognize the iPod even though the screen is selected iPod/iPhone. This seems to be another software bug with the 11.6 inch Denso 1.0 2020 - 2022 infotainment system.

May 24, 2022 · I'm in all camps, except streaming. Not opposed to streaming, just don't have an unlimited data cell plan. There's lots of stuff on my iPod that I like, especially playlists. It goes through the Aux. Then there's a 32GB USB stick with probably 40 or 50 albums, all FLAC. Good quality sound, but the browsing is a bit clunky.

Jul 5, 2021 · With this setting, if the iPhone is connected with USB, it is recognized as an iPod so that the music can be selected and played from the Apple Music Library. Note: When an iPhone is connected as an iPod As an iPod, only Apple Music Library can be played. Other music sources like Spotify, Amazon Music etc. cannot be played.

I was able to stream iTunes/iPhone stored music, Pandora, XM (from the XM smartphone app), and even my Navigon navigation app played through my stock radio. If you have used the stock iPod interface, you'll be glad to finally be able to select songs quickly with this setup.

Oct 23, 2008 · Climate control and audio circuitry are very much integrated. I opted to put the DIN head unit in the glove box with the glove liner removed. This configuration suits my listening habits which is 90% iPod ( in the shuffle mode) and 10% one favorite jazz station. I use an Alpine remote to control the unit so its location isn't an issue.
