Ok Ford Escape Brakes When they start to grind (about once a month) take your car to the car wash and power wash the front and back wheels this will stop all the grinding. Keep them clean !!!! All the AIR noise you can hear is the (brake booster) this is a vacume assisted device that helps push the brake piston in the master cilinder.

I have an all wheel drive 2007 Ford Hybrid Escape. At 36, 600 miles the master cylinder went out. Brakes squishy, would not hold until pressed almost to the floor, very scary. Some surging and acceleration preceeded this problem.

I have also had brake failure on a 2009 Ford Escape Hybrid. Two weeks ago, at 50,000 miles and just back from the dealer's service, the brakes failed at start-up: very little braking action and a warning on the dash.

My 2003 Ford Escape, 90,000 miles, brakes normally until below 5 mph. Below this speed the ABS "chatters" twice before the vechile comes to a complete stop. This occurrs at low braking pressure and on dry pavement. When I remove the ABS 60 amp fuse from under the hood, the problem goes away, but of course I then have no ABS protection.

Customer: We have a 2009 ford escape. Brakes were spongy so we replaced all of the brakes and master cylinder. Still spongy so took & had abs vacuumed at a shop. They said abs bad, but havent had any warning light for abs. Cant find used one I texas either. We bought a vacula and have used it twice.
