This burgeoning area of OKC is located on the south bank of the Oklahoma River just west of Western Ave. Its main attraction is the historic Santa Monica Pier Ferris Wheel (purchased on eBay in 2008), but Wheeler Riverfront Plaza also offers hammocks, games, concessions and greenspace.

May 9, 2024 · The ferris wheel in the Wheeler District is now a fixture in skyline shots of OKC’s urban core, standing out from its spot along the south bank of the Oklahoma River, southwest of downtown. Over the past several years, the district, which occupies the former downtown airpark, has turned into an entertainment destination, and not just for the ferris wheel.

Wheeler Ferris Wheel is set up in a nice park-like setting across the river from downtown. There is a really nice trail that goes along the river with nice views of the city. For only $6 you can get a nice ride on the wheel. Compared to other cities, this is pretty cheap. I enjoyed the views and had a good time relaxing in the park.
