Sep 26, 2013 · I re-read this thread and couldn't find if you are using any sort of encoder for head position. How does your setworks know where the head is? It uses a stepper motor so an encoder isn't needed. There are 200 steps per revolution. If you send it 200 steps it will rotate exactly 360 degrees. The set screw on top of the housing that Ed mentions should have a small spring under it, which pushes on the brake band creating a slight drag on the drum (adjustable) to prevent bird nesting.

Jan 25, 2025 · On my list of things to do is similar what wwsjr has done. Since the hydraulic box is right there, I plan to add a bang cylinder right beside the front jack. I have wallered out the holes in several of the jacks from using the bar to lift and lower the jacks. When the holes get wallered out the jacks get harder to set up as well.
