Sep 21, 2017 · Are the DWG files there alongside the DWL files in the same folder? If so, then something in the transfer process locked them. Deleting the DWL will free up the DWG. If there is only a DWL by the name of your drawing and no DWG, either the transfer process into Mac applied the wrong extension, or the wrong file got copied into your folder.

May 23, 2018 · Drawings freeze/crash, and lately, each time CAD crashes, it creates .dwl .dwl2 along with standard .bak. Dec 27, 2017 · dwl and dwl2 files are automatically created by Autocad and are used to determine if the drawing is open, or information if the drawing has crashed. There is no way to change where they get created. Christopher T. Cowgill, P.E.

Oct 5, 2017 · Unfortunately, the DWL file needs to be in the same folder as the DWG that it relates to. The DWL file provides info on who has the file open. The WHOHAS command utiltizes the info in the file and looks for it in the same folder as the DWG. I don't have any solution to the Google Drive problem.
