Visitors to Kolob Canyons in Zion National Park delight in its remote, road-less-traveled feel. Stroll the 2.2-mile Taylor Creek Trail to Double Arch Alcove or reserve an overnight wilderness permit for backcountry camping near Kolob Arch, one of the largest freestanding arches in the world.

Kolob Canyons is located in the Northwest corner of Zion National Park and is incredibly beautiful, with its towering red rock walls, green trees, historic cabins, trails, and scenic drive. It cannot be accessed from Zion Canyon, but only from a separate park entrance near Cedar City, Utah.

Sep 25, 2021 · Kolob Terrace Road, also known as Kolob Reservoir Road, is a steep, scenic drive that cuts through the Zion National Park and splits it into two parts – Zion Canyon and Kolob Canyons. It is the least visited portion of the park and its best-kept secret.

Nov 29, 2023 · The trail begins at Lee Pass with stunning views of the Kolob Canyons as it crosses Timber Creek and continues to descend toward La Verkin Creek. After seven miles a spur trail leads hikers to a viewpoint where they can see the Kolob Arch.

This area is about a 45 minute drive from Springdale, UT. It has about a 6 mile, absolutely beautiful, scenic drive with 3 really cool hiking trails. No crowds, beautiful scenery and very helpful park rangers make for an outstanding experience.
