Aug 1, 2018 · The first "real" drum kit of Keith Moon's was a Premier 55 Outfit bought in 1961 in Blue Pearl finish, with a 20" bass drum, a 12" tom, and a 16" floor tom. Between 1964 and 1965, he followed the Ludwig trend beat by beat and played on two Ludwig Super Classic kits.

Keith Moon’s iconic “Lily” kit design was based on images of Victorian actress Lillie Langtry and was Moon’s own concept. He designed it with British drum manufacturers Premier, and its unveiling somewhat blew the minds of his fellow drumming community!

In 1968, Keith Moon switched from a 16'' crash to an 18'' Paiste 2002 Crash Cymbal as part of his signature "Pictures of Lily" drum kit, which he used from 1968 to 1974. According to Whotabs, his cymbal selection primarily included Paiste and Zildjian brands.
