History - Jackson, WY
The Town of Jackson was named in 1894 and incorporated as a municipality in 1914. It continues to be the only incorporated municipality in Teton County and it was the first Town to elect an all-female Council in 1920.
Town Square - Jackson, WY
Jackson's Town Square, formally named George Washington Memorial Park, is the cultural, civic, and business heart of our community. Dedicated as a park in 1934, each corner hosts arches made from elk antlers collected from the nearby Elk Refuge.

The Town of Jackson is located in the northwest corner of the State of Wyoming approximately 15 miles from the Idaho border. The Town is approximately 12 miles south of the entrance to Grand Teton National Park and 60 miles south of Yellowstone National Park. Jackson is at 6,237 feet (1,901 meters) above sea level and is 2.95 square miles.
