Apr 2, 2020 · Doom Eternal for me, the most important element of a Doom game is the combat and Eternal simply crushes 2016 in that regard. Weapons look, sound, and feel far superior to 2016's and the movement feels much less "stiff" compared to 2016's which I felt was too slow and I died way too much because of the lack thereof.

Aug 28, 2020 · Doom Eternal is considerably harder than Doom 2016 because it requires weapon switching & player agency in combat but it does tell people what to do on tutorial texts. But the good thing is that it also gives the player more freedom with its movement and the meathook so there's entirely new layer to the combat.

Nov 28, 2021 · Doom 2016 and Eternal are both really good purchases imo. 2016's combat and level layouts really do feel more like a "doom if it was released today" kind of thing (in a good way), while Eternal's combat mechanics (re: lack of ammo) demand a more specific playstyle and level layouts are generally more linear.

Apr 27, 2020 · Doom Eternal is such an expansive game relative to Doom 2016, that it almost feels unfair to compare them. But at the same time, Doom Eternal's expansive nature comes from building an impressive edifice upon the rock-solid foundation that 2016 laid down, without which there would be no Eternal. Technically Eternal is the better game.

Sep 2, 2020 · Doom eternal by far. I initially hated it and felt that doom 2016 was better but when the game clicks you see just how much better it is than the first one. Metro exodus made me sleep in the first few hours. So this on is easy.

Feb 12, 2021 · Eternal. However, I like the feel or the 16 Doom. Eternal is way to cartoony. The problem with the 2016 Doom is that it doesn't feel like Doom. It pits you in arena's that you're forced to fight in. You can't advance unless you kill everyone. Eternal still has this problem a few times, but it feels more like Doom.
