how to disassemble bolt and extractor - AK Rifles
Mar 14, 2006 · Once the extractor pin is in all the way, you are ready to reinstall the firing pin. Note that the firing pin has a little "step" on one side to allow clearance for the firing pin retaining pin. This "step" needs to face the ejector slot as the firing pin is reinstalled. Then reinstall the firing pin retaining pin. A little gentle tapping is ...
Firing pins for the AK 47 bolt
Oct 13, 2012 · Early AK's had fluted firing pins and almost everybody switched over to flat ones after the AKM was fielded. Hungary is one country I can think of that seems to have retained the fluted pins. I presume that a flat firing pin is cheaper and faster to manufacture than a fluted one. I haven't weighed them, but I imagine the flat is slightly ...

Jun 7, 2008 · Chinese milled Legends, PolyTechnologies AKS-762 spikers, Milled Norinco MAK-90 and Arsenal SLR106 are the ones I can think of with spring loaded firing pins. I just replaced a spring loaded firing pin in one of my spikers because …
Failure to Fire / Light Primer Strikes - AK Rifles
Mar 22, 2014 · The firing pin did not seem to rattle, but it was free to reciprocate in and out of the bolt. I added some oil and cleaned it and made sure to empty it of fluids, but I didn't have any punches to remove and examine it. The tip of the firing pin was not sharp, it did not have appear to have sheared off. I may buy another one to try that.
Firing pin retaining pin question: Hardened or non-hardened?
Sep 12, 2011 · I just bought a K-Var AK-74 (East German 5.45 parts) bolt kit, and want to see if the firing pin retainer is the correct one, or an AK-47 (smaller) pin. I already have an East German AK-74 extractor pin, and it is a duplicate of the factory Russian pin that came with the gun, and is …
Norinco 84s firing pin broke and problems finding... - AK Rifles
Jan 2, 2023 · So something is not correct, I have 2 clearly different pins sold as being the same. The pin sold alone is one style, the pin sold as a "bolt repair kit" is another style - both are spring loaded. If you are desperate you might consider rolling the dice and ordering both the single firing pin and the bolt repair set.
Firing pin removal and modification? - AK Rifles
Jan 2, 2012 · 1. Figure out what blocks the firing pin from moving too far forward inside the bolt (probably a shoulder on the firing pin shaft) 2. Filing a tad off of whatever this restriction is so that the firing pin can travel a bit farther forward 3. Filing the face of the firing pin off to more of a flat rectangular impact area on the cartrige rim.
Arsenal's Spring Loaded Firing Pins - AK Rifles
Jun 2, 2016 · A simple mod can reduce possibility of light strikes, and also reduce tension on retaining pin. As is, I would expect the firing pins to last between 5000 to 10,000 rounds. I recommend keeping a spare. The nice part about Arsenal guns is you can get factory parts from K-var. Factory firing pins can be had for $21: AK-47/74 & AR Rifles,...

disassemble VZ58 bolt-firing pin replacement - AK Rifles
Dec 23, 2010 · The evolution of the vz.58 firing pins reminds me of the change from thick, fluted pins in the milled AK-47 line to thin, flat pins in the AKM. I had always presumed that this was done merely to simplify production, but maybe the argument you make for decreased lock time and/or lessened risk of slam-fires applies there, too.
