Brian M. Parker, MD, joined the Jacobs School faculty in 2024. He serves as chair of the Department of Anesthesiology, senior associate dean for clinical affairs at the Jacobs School, and chief medical officer of UBMD Physicians’ Group.

You will take comprehensive medical histories and physical examinations for patients with these conditions, and learn to counsel patients and their families effectively regarding pathophysiology, treatment options and prognosis.

Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs) define what students will know and be able to do because they have successfully completed the undergraduate neuroscience program. Assessment is conducted on a regular basis to determine to what extent students achieve the PLOs, to guide program modifications, and to improve teaching and learning practices.

Researchers in these disciplines study how cells, tissues and organs of the body communicate and work together to maintain the body’s functional capacities in health and disease, using state-of-the-art computational, genomic, proteomic, cell biological and physiological techniques.

The Department of Psychiatry is recognized by the New York State Education Department’s State Board for Psychology as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed psychologists. Psychologists will need to complete an evaluation to claim credit. You should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of your participation in the activity.

For your health sciences scholarly project (HSSP), with the guidance of a research mentor, you’ll complete an in-depth scholarly project in an academic area of interest related to medicine or health care.
