Jan 3, 2025 · FCC is absolutely trying to make this 100% clear for the hams in the back row that weren't paying attention. The FCC Chairwoman had a pretty good comment on this, for those that are still confused: But their efforts were thwarted by an amateur radio operator who was unlawfully transmitting on frequencies dedicated to public safety.

Apr 13, 2023 · To be fair, the FCC has a big database. But so do a lot of other resources on the web. The performance of the FCC website has been horrible for a long time, as in unreliable. It's been that way for years. Nothing new. They obviously do not care. But, they are the only game in town. Which usually leads to the "do not care" attitude.

I did try searching before asking but there's so much info to sift through. It's more than likely right in front of my face. would appreciate a point in the right direction please.

Jun 21, 2024 · At the end of the day, the FCC's opinion is the only one that matters. One's license is a privilege not a right, and the FCC isn't an agency that operates by criminal evidentiary rules- they find fact with those who violate their rules, and issue NOVs and NALs accordingly, and modify/suspend/revoke accordingly. Sue them if you don't like it.

Aug 30, 2023 · There was a huge worldwide freeband type CB convention held in my town and the FCC sent two engineers to bust as many of them as possible. The engineers that visited me confirmed it. I along with a good friend and my boss, the owner of a CB/car stereo shop were casualties of that but I didn't hear of any out of towners getting busted.

Dec 17, 2019 · The FCC is very clear on this. The licensee, --Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools Olympic High School and specifically, Laura Mason (shown as the licensee on the FCC license)--is the ONLY one who can authorize adding radios to their system.

Jun 21, 2024 · The actual CFR for GMRS is vague and outdated. The additional wording on the webpage isn't binding. While the FCC could absolutely enforce this, it wouldn't take much of an attorney to keep this tied up for a while discussing what is actually published in the rules. And I'm sure the FCC knows that.

I boosted the AM PWR HI and LO settings and now am seeing 4 watts. This radio's setting values appear to be limited to prevent users from exceeding...

Oct 17, 2023 · The GMRS process doesn't involve anyone other than the FCC and the applicant, and while their processes can slow down due to issues with their systems, it usually (as in most times) only takes a working day or two to get through the system. Often the delays are due to the applicant having challenges with the often confusing fee payment system.
