First discovered: 6:52 a.m. Feb. 3 A new wildfire was reported today at 6:52 a.m. in Los Angeles County. The wildfire has been burning on private land. There is no update on the containment progress of the fire and its cause remains undetermined.

The Eaton Fire is almost completely contained in the Altadena area northeast of Los Angeles. On the LA County coast, the Palisades Fire is over three-fourths contained. The Hughes Fire, which broke out in the Lake Castaic area Wednesday north of Los Angeles, is over 50% contained.

The Palisades Fire has been the largest in terms of burned areas. The iconic Malibu restaurant Moonshadows was completely destroyed, as was the Palisades Branch Library. The Palisades Charter High School suffered extensive damage. Here’s an analysis of the building damage with what we know now:
