Australia has a new UFC champion in Jack Della Maddalena. Della Maddalena put in a fantastic performance in the main event of UFC 315, outworking Belal Muhammad to win the UFC welterweight championship.

Muhammad leaves Montreal without the title he won in July by defeating Leon Edwards at UFC 304. The result also marked Muhammad's first loss since a unanimous decision against Geoff Neal in January 2019, ending a 10-fight winning streak, which also included a no contest against Edwards.

Jack Della Maddalena completely changed his career in the main event of UFC 315 — and it's possible the best is yet to come. The Australian challenged Belal Muhammad for the UFC Welterweight title — the title once held by French-Canadian legend Georges St-Pierre — in the main event at a raucous Bell Centre in Montreal.
