Suddenly, the road to a fifth straight NCAA softball title for Oklahoma got steeper. The No. 2-seeded Sooners were defeated 4-2 by No. 6 Texas on Saturday in a matchup of two of the top teams in the country.

The Longhorns got home runs from Kayden Henry and Joley MItchell to beat their longtime rival and stay unbeaten at Women's College World Series.

The Longhorns have reached the Women’s College World Series championship series three times in the last four years.

The kickoff time for the Red River Rivalry game played at the Cotton Bowl was one of many details released Thursday about the 2025 Texas football schedule. The Longhorns will face the Oklahoma Sooners in Dallas at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 11. The game will broadcast on either ABC or ESPN.

Health officials in Oklahoma and Texas released updates on the ongoing measles outbreak. The number of measles cases in Oklahoma hasn’t changed since the beginning of the month. State health officials have a total number of 17 cases.
