A Level 2 risk means scattered severe storms will be possible. Part of central Alabama as well as the Alabama coast will have a Level 1 risk, which means isolated severe storms will be possible. More severe weather will be in the forecast for Alabama on Wednesday and Thursday as well.
Alabama is categorized into three risk levels by the Storm Prediction Cente r: thunderstorms, marginal, and slight risk. For the Townsquare Media coverage area, only two counties are under a marginal risk, and that is a good portion of Bibb and Perry counties.

Rain and thunderstorms are expected to cover much of the eastern half of the country on May 29, according to the weather service. The greatest risk for severe thunderstorms, including hail, strong winds, and potential tornadoes, centers around west-central Texas and parts of northeast Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina.
Isolated to scattered severe storms will be possible overnight tonight (Monday) as well as Tuesday and Wednesday across Alabama. The weather service thinks that damaging wind gusts, hail and heavy rain will be the main concerns with any stronger storm that develops all three days.
A “Marginal Risk” is in place for most of Alabama by the Storm Prediction Center. This includes West Alabama communities such as Bibb, Fayette, Greene, Hale, Lamar, Perry, Pickens, Sumter, Tuscaloosa, and Walker counties. The concerns with this system include damaging wind gusts up to 60 mph and large hail up to quarter-size.
Along Highway 11 in Trussville, trees were reported down, damaging cars and houses, especially in the subdivision of Tutwiler Farms.
