The Green Bay Packers selected a wide receiver in the first round of the 2025 NFL draft. It was the first time a wide receiver was selected in the first round by the Packers since 2002. That was receiver was none other than Texas Longhorns standout Matthew Golden.

One NFL executive told Mike Sando of The Athletic that he believes rookie Matthew Golden is already the best Green Bay Packers' wide receiver and the best wideout option in the draft. “Golden is awesome,” the exec told Sando. “He is their best receiver right now. I think he is really good, and he was the best receiver in the draft.”
