DBacks Pitcher Merrill Kelly talks about deadline distractions and coming off a loss to the Pirates in Game 2 of a three game series.

Despite Merrill Kelly only conceding one earned run, the Diamondbacks couldn't muster anything offensively in a 2-0 loss at the Pittsburgh Pirates on Saturday.

After three straight losses and four in their last five games, the Diamondbacks entered the All-Star break with a much-needed win, beating the Angels 5-1 Sunday to avoid a series sweep.

It’s also not as though Kelly would come in and need to be their ace, as he would likely slide in behind Hunter Brown, who, in 20 starts, has a 2.57 ERA and Framber Valdez, who sports a 2.75 ERA in 19 starts.
