The Los Angeles Dodgers star first baseman experienced a harsh setback on his surgically-repaired ankle earlier this season.

Freeman said he doesn’t know if the ankle will ever be 100 percent again, but his approach at the plate looks as strong as ever.

Freeman is the active leader with 2,308 career hits. Only 33 players in major-league history have reached 3,000, and joining them would virtually guarantee induction into the Hall of Fame.
