General Motors said Thursday that it is temporarily laying off hundreds of workers at its all EV-plant in Detroit in response to market dynamics.

DETROIT – General Motors is laying off workers at its all-electric Factory Zero plant in Detroit where it is adjusting production “to align with market dynamics,” the company said Thursday.

Hundreds of auto workers across Metro Detroit will be temporarily out of a job, starting today (Monday, April 14).

Factory Zero produces all-electric vehicles Chevrolet Silverado EV, GMC Sierra EV, Hummer EV SUV and pickup and all-electric Escalade IQ. There is currently no date set for those workers to return.
