Sesame Street' star Elmo’s X account was hacked. The hacker published several racist and antisemitic posts before Sesame Street regained control and publicly addressed the issue. In a statement, Sesame Street condemned the posts,

The now-removed posts, which were shared on the character's official X account on Sunday, called for violence against Jews.

Since Elon Musk acquired X, formerly known as Twitter, he has received criticism over content moderation policies that allow hate speech. After a recent coding change for X’s artificial intelligence chatbot, Grok reportedly used antisemitic language in its replies. It has since received an update.

The talk show host said he had a "tremendous" show planned but "had to scrap all that because Elmo lost his f‑‑‑ing mind."

Jon Stewart confronted Elmo during Monday night's "The Daily Show" over the "Sesame Street" puppet's X hack and antisemitic tweets.

The tweets, which Sesame Workshop said were posted by a hacker, focused on the files allegedly maintained by Jeffrey Epstein.
