A spokesperson for the Yosemite Park Service said that it was an ‘unauthorized display’ and ‘the flag was removed as soon as possible.’

The activists, who describe themselves as “a coalition of transgender, queer, and ally climbers,” unfurled a 55-by-35-foot transgender pride flag on the famous rockface at 10 a.m. Tuesday, according to a statement shared by the group. The action, called “Trans is Natural,” unfolded as scores of spectators watched from the valley below.
