CASS COUNTY, MI – A woman was injured Saturday afternoon when the car she was riding in crashed into a ditch. Rescue crews were called at 4:10 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, to the area of Calvin Hill Street and Union Road in Calvin Township, southwest Michigan, for a report of a single-vehicle crash, according to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office.

The authorities believe the crash, into a union’s strike-day demonstration, was a deliberate attack. The suspect is a 24-year-old Afghan asylum seeker who was known to the police.

A car plowed into demonstrators in Munich on Thursday injuring at least 28 people, in what a local official said was a suspected attack, shortly before world leaders were due in the southern German city for a high-level security conference.
