An Amber Alert has been issued for a 15-year-old North Texas girl, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety. Ivanna Gonzalez, who is Hispanic, was last seen at 3 a.m. on April 18 in the 7900 block of Hunter Lane in North Richland Hills.

The AMBER Alert was born in 1996 when local media teamed up with local police to develop an early warning system to find abducted children following the abduction and brutal murder of 9-year-old Amber Hagerman, of Arlington. An AMBER Alert issued Thursday afternoon for a 15-year-old girl from North Richland Hills has been canceled.
