VESTAVIA HILLS, Ala. — Ty Simpson was Nick Saban's quarterback at Alabama football, the five-star the former Crimson Tide coach recruited to move from Martin, Tennessee, to Tuscaloosa.

During Nick Saban's career at Alabama, he recruited and deployed some ultra-talented quarterbacks, namely, Heisman Trophy winner Bryce Young. Although Saban won't be on the sidelines this fall, his influence could still be felt, considering there are still plenty of players on the roster that he recruited.

During an appearance on Greg McElroy's podcast, Alabama football head coach Kalen DeBoer discussed a deadline for choosing between Ty Simpson, Austin Mack and Keelon Russell to become the Tide's starting quarterback.
