Yakima’s Diamond Jubilee in 1960 was an eight-day event to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the city’s founding.

The Yakima Valley Museum was incorporated in 1952, with the core of today’s structure — designed by John Villesvik and Maurice Smith — built in 1957.

The Yakima Valley Museum reveals that it has been bequeathed Dick and Jane’s Spot, the unique and ever-evolving art installation and home of Ellensburg artist Jane Orleman.
