University of Nebraska at Kearney freshman Madison Smith earned All-American honors in the discus at the NCAA Division II Track and Field Championships Friday afternoon in Pueblo, Colorado.

In 40 years as Kearney Cemetery supervisor, Steve Baye has overseen 5,000 burials, added 16 acres, built three columbariums and updated technology. He will retire June 13.
