Lindsey Vonn becomes the oldest female alpine skiing medallist in a World Cup race just 11 months after having a partial knee replacement and six years after retiring.

Four months after coming out of retirement, Lindsey Vonn returned to the podium on Sunday by earning silver in the super-G at the World Cup Finals in Sun Valley, Idaho. Vonn's podium marks her first since March 2018, and at 40 years old she becomes the oldest woman to ever medal in a World Cup race.

Lindsey Vonn concluded her comeback season at age 40 with a second-place finish in a World Cup super-G race Sunday that was won by Swiss standout Lara Gut-Behrami.
