Naturally, there is a punk scene in Yakutia, Russia, and from it Natalia Egorova's—aka Xomeless—darkly funny illustrations have emerged.

The SpongeBob illustration is a lot more terrifying. The skull shape alone is unnerving, but the porous “skin” of the sponge looks especially gross on the skeletal frame.

The ad has a dry wit, but it’s not in-your-face funny. It can quite cleverly be adapted for social channels and even out-of-home ads, encouraging people to retell their own stories between friends.
