The “Castle on the Hill” is slated for a face-lift that would wrap a back corner of the building in an austere modern facade.

Gobles Public Schools students and staff celebrated the groundbreaking on a $27 million renovation project Tuesday morning.

The former school buildings in Ventura were added to the National Register of Historic Places and are already drawing pitches for a housing project.
