In a stunning development, Bay Area stars Steph Curry and Sabrina Ionescu won’t be bringing their NBA-WNBA shootout event back for this year’s All-Star weekend in San Francisco, according to multiple reports on Thursday morning.

Star Weekend. The NBA announced Thursday that the 3-point shooting event -- one of the highlights of last year's All-Star Weekend in Indianapolis that brought together two of the biggest stars in the NBA and WNBA -- is not going to be part of the lineup in San Francisco.

Last year, Curry and Ionescu put on a show in a novel, interleague event. Curry beat the Walnut Creek native 29 to 26 in what became the highlight of last year’s All-Star weekend. Despite efforts to revive the competition, this weekend’s games will go on without it.
