WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Regal Cinemas is reopening the Warren West theatre in Wichita on Friday, April 23. The Warren East is scheduled to open two weeks later, on May 7.

Regal Cinemas is laying off more than one hundred employees at two major movie theaters.

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Regal Cinemas has changed the reopening of the Warren West in Wichita from April 16 to April 23. The Warren East is scheduled to open May 7.

Regal Cinemas is also implementing a mandatory face mask policy. Regal locations in Wichita that open on Aug. 21 are Warren West and Warren East. The two other sites will open the following weekend.

Through bankruptcy court, Regal Cinemas is trying to get out of its east Warren theater lease at Wichita’s Plazzio development.

Cineworld Group, the British company that owns Regal Cinemas, filed in Houston bankruptcy court late last month to get out of its lease at Wichita’s Plazzio development at 13th and Greenwich.
