Five people have been rescued from an alligator-infested swamp three days after their plane crashed in the Amazonian jungle in Bolivia.

Two pilots are unharmed after a plane crashed into a lake in Putnam County on Tuesday morning. Putnam County Sheriff’s deputies say a plane flipped into the water on Crescent Lake near Bear Island just after 10 a.

The pilot said they were surrounded by "huge alligators" who came within three metres of the group. They also saw snakes in the water and had to contend with mosquitoes.
