Pennsylvania State Police are investigating what caused a wooden bridge to collapse Tuesday afternoon when a propane truck drove over it in Lower Macungie Township.

A bridge in Emmaus, Pennsylvania, collapsed while a propane truck was crossing it Tuesday afternoon. The Sharp Energy truck tried to cross the narrow wooden bridge connecting Orchid Place in Emmaus to the Wildlands Conservancy.

Police now say a 35-year-old Berks County woman was the driver involved in the bridge collapse in Emmaus. A propane truck tried to go over the small bridge when the first pier collapsed into the Little Lehigh Creek.
