As Oakland's special mayoral election approaches, campaign rhetoric is intensifying with about 30 days to go before the April 15 vote.

The race to be the city’s next mayor finally heated up Tuesday, with the stage cleared for candidates Barbara Lee and Loren Taylor to explain for the first time why either would be a better choice than the other for Oakland’s top political office.

Oakland's two top candidates for the open mayoral seat went head to head in a live debate. Resale values have collapsed in recent years, with the average price of a used Tesla now $10,000 less than that of a non-Tesla electric car.

Several students have been taken to the hospital after a roof collapsed during a party in Oakland. The collapse happened on Semple Street near Bates Street. A lot of first responders were on the scene including Pittsburgh police, Pitt Police, and Pittsburgh EMS.
