Almost 100 wildfires are burning across Florida, affecting 3,641 acres. Conditions across the state range from abnormally dry to extreme drought. NOAA's National Integrated Drought Information System April 24 now showing three separate areas under extreme drought.

As of Tuesday, April 29, there were 101 wildfires burning across Florida, burning 3,556 acres. Twenty-two counties have issued burn bans, which is almost one-third of the state. The mean statewide drought index has increased again, to 477, up eight points from Monday.
