Microsoft is transitioning to passwordless accounts, utilizing secure passkeys with PINs, facial recognition or fingerprints to enhance cybersecurity.

" [Users] signing in with passkeys are three times more successful at getting into their account than password users (about 98% versus 32%)," the blog post reads. "When you use a passkey, you get into your account much quicker too! Passkey sign-ins are eight times faster than a password and multifactor authentication."

Nefarious hackers have figured out many ways to circumvent 2FA restrictions and harvest passwords with sophisticated phishing traps. Many of these bad actors, however, will soon be looking for new ways to attack Microsoft user accounts.
