Two grassfires burning around Mount Isa have triggered smoke hazard warnings for the entire Mount Isa township, the nearby Gunpowder mine site and for nearly 200kms of highway.

Information from Queensland Fire and Emergency Services Smoke is currently affecting Barkly Highway near Gunpowder. This is from a fire burning Barkly Highway.

A body was recovered from the water at the Gunpowder State Park Dundee Creek Marina on Wednesday, according to the Maryland Natural Resources Police.
