Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum said Friday that Mexico would immediately send a water delivery to Texas farmers under a decades-old treaty that has recently heightened tensions with the United States.

Mexico’s President Claudia Sheinbaum said her country would deliver more water to Texas as part of a border agreement but that supplies had been limited by several years of drought.

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum said her country was working on sending water made scarce by almost four years of drought to the U.S. and didn’t believe President Trump’s demand for water would lead to a crisis between the two countries.
