Ohio GOP Bernie Moreno, elected in November, has reintroduced the English Language Unity Act, which would make English the official language of the United States.

Senator Bernie Moreno (R-OH) introduced a new bill Wednesday to designate English as the official language of the United States. It’s not the first attempt to pass such legislation. As it stands, the United States does not have an official language.

As a naturalized citizen, Bernie Moreno says English is foundational to the American way of life and should be enshrined in law.
