The SpaceX owner’s departure from the administration came shortly after he criticized Trump’s “big, beautiful bill.” Musk believed the agenda would increase the U.S. budget deficit and harm efforts by the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

As Musk renewed his attacks on the “One, Big, Beautiful Bill,” Trump remained unusually civil, calling his former pal a “wonderful guy.”
