Oilers Dispatch Kings in Thrilling Game 6 to Move On The Edmonton Oilers took care of business on Thursday night, securing a 6-4 win over the Los Angeles Kings to close out their first-round series in the 2025 NHL Playoffs.

Connor Brown scored once in a three-point game and the Edmonton Oilers advanced to the second round of the Stanley Cup playoffs, again at the expense of the Los Angeles Kings, thanks to a 6-4 home-ice victory in Game 6 on Thursday.

Three of the six games in the series went into overtime, with Los Angeles winning two of those three contests. The series became tied at two games apiece, before Edmonton outscored Los Angeles 11-7 in the final two games. Stuart Skinner shined in net, saving 65 shots across Games 5 and 6.
