Tina Karch shifted her home-run day care to the former sports academy in 2023, expanding the number of children and staff.

Based on interviews by the state, a two-year-old child left a classroom unsupervised, without staff’s knowledge, walked down a hallway 58 feet and exited through a door to the playground.
