University of Michigan as well as Northwestern, Cornell and Brown universities are among dozens targeted by the White House

Columbia University announced it will pay the U.S. government $220 million over three years to settle its dispute with Trump administration and restore funding.

The White House had canceled more than $400 million in research funding to the university, saying it had failed to protect Jewish students from harassment.
