The Iowa Senate passed a bill requiring high school students to pass a civics test identical to the U.S. citizenship test.
The Iowa Senate passed a bill Monday that would require students to get at least a 60% on the test to receive their diploma.
Iowa students would need to get 60% of the questions right to pass and be able to graduate. If they fail, students can retake an unlimited amount of times.
Beginning with the class of 2027, Iowa students would have to take another test before they can graduate high school, if the governor signs a bill into law.
