The Belvidere Fire Department responded to a pair of garage fires on E. 2nd Street at 2:40 a.m. on Wednesday, which caused thermal damage to three adjacent homes, but no injuries were reported.

Belvidere fire responded to the 400 block of E. 2nd Street for a detached garage fire that spread to a second garage nearby.

Loved ones and fellow firefighters gathered Tuesday to say final goodbyes at the funeral for Chicago Fire Capt. David Meyer.
