Long tipped for the role, designer Jonathan Anderson has been named as the new creative director at Dior, overseeing womenswear, menswear and haute couture.

It was announced that his predecessor, Maria Grazia Chiuri would depart the brand after 9 years as creative director last week. She was the first woman to lead design for the iconic maison.

The Northern Irish designer is to show his first women's collection during Paris Fashion Week in October. His men's debut is scheduled for June 27.
