Because water levels in the diversion canal were deemed too low for a rescue by boat, an air rescue seemed to be the safest way forward.
The Catahoula Parish Sheriff’s Office says a couple was rescued after getting stranded near the Long Branch Control Structure at Saline Larto Lake on Friday, Jan. 31.
