Police officers were called to the area due to 'concerns for a man inside a property, alleged to have weapons and pose a risk to himself'

A police cordon is in place in central Sheffield this morning after a man was allegedly spotted with weapons with people in buildings near the area evacuated.

Police remain at the Gateway apartment building in Sheffield as the stand-off continues into a second night. Officers can be seen in the building after they were first called on Monday evening to reports of a man with weapons inside one of the apartments.
