A heartbroken neighborhood is reeling after a young boy was fatally struck by a school bus just feet away from his home.

A child heading home from school was struck and killed by a school bus in Hyde Park Monday afternoon, according to Boston Police and devastated officials who called the incident “incredibly tragic.” Boston police officers responded to a report of a child struck by a school bus at 107 Washington St., at around 2:44 p.m. on Monday.
